FITA - Federation Internationale
de Tir à l'Arc
Created in 1931. The
international governing body of
archery serves to promote and
regulate archery world-wide
through its more than 130 member
associations. Its assistance
programs offer equipment,
audio-visual training materials
and on-site instruction to new
or emerging Member
Associations. A heavy schedule
of technical training seminars
has been completed in
cooperation with the
International Olympic
Committee's "Olympic Solidarity"
program.

NAA - National Archery
Association
Created in 1879. The Vision is
to foster the sport of archery
as a national pastime from which
we can develop interest and
abilities at all age levels to
include international sports
superiority in archery programs
and athlete performance. The
Mission is to develop and
promote the sport of archery
with the ultimate goal of
producing Olympic and World
Archery Champions.

IFAA - International Field
Archery Association
Created in 1969. The IFAA is
the recognised International
body for the sport of Field
Archery. Within that sport, we
provide and sanction
International and Continental
Championships in the Archery
Subdivisions of: Field Archery,
Indoor Archery, Bowhunting
(target only), and 3-D Archery.
Our members are those nations of
the world who choose to
affiliate with the IFAA. To
those nations, we extend the
privilege of competition in our
sanctioned events (at both
international and continental
levels) and sanction their
National events when conducted
under the rules of IFAA.

NFAA - National Field Archery
Association
Created in 1939. Dedicated to
the conservation and
preservation of game and its
natural habitat. It is resolved
to foster, perpetuate and
preserve "the use of the bow in
accordance with its ancient and
honorable traditions." The NFAA
incorporates numerous styles of
archery, including Freestyle,
Freestyle Limited, Barebow,
Bowhunter (Competitive,
Freestyle, Freestyle Limited),
Traditional. Cub, Youth, Young
Adult, Adult, Senior, and
Professional are the NFAA
divisions of competition.

IBO- International Bowhunting
Organization
Created in 1984. "To promote,
encourage and foster the sport
of bowhunting; further bowhunter
education; act as a political
coordinator and liaison for the
protection and advancement of
bowhunting--function as a
clearinghouse for essential
bowhunter information;
and--adhere to the basic ideal
of the unification of bowhunters."

ASA - Archery Shooter’s
Association
Created in 1993. The ASA is
recognized as the leading 3-D
archery organization in America.
ASA has a proven track record
for conducting archery events
that provide an opportunity for
millions of archers and
bowhunters in America to do what
they love most. The ASA has
hosted tens of thousands of
amateur and professional archers
from across the U.S. in
nationally recognized Pro/Am
competitions, plus state and
regional Federation qualifiers
predominantly in the eastern
half of the U.S.. Features that
distinguish ASA Pro/Am and
Federation competitions include
a standardized set of
competitive rules;
professionally executed shooting
ranges; high standards for dress
and conduct; safety standards
that include a maximum arrow
speed standard of 280 feet per
second; the copyrighted 12-ring
scoring system; and the largest
paybacks in competitive archery.

EMAU - European & Mediterranean Archery
Union
Created in 1988. The EMAU’s
primary goal is to promote and
encourage archery throughout
Europe and Mediterranean.
