It is great to know that I can get to so many tournaments without flying a whole day from West coast to East coast through 3 times zones! My archery was flounderng and now it has come back to life!
I was the guy sitting in front of you in the National indoor yesterday and bought a belt buckle from you, the guy with my Japanese friend that you spoke with you for a while. I just checked out your website with the card that you gave me. I didn't know you have an interest in Japanese sword. I happen to be an antique Japanese sword collector since 1990, used to have 36 in my collection and sold off most of them and keeping the best ones. Only if I know you have a super wide spectrum of interest, we would have a whole lot more to talk about.
By the way, there is a San Francisco Token Kai once a year, aka Japanese sword show at SFO in mid August (around the wekend of the 24th). You just let me knwo and I could get you in for free. I could introduce you to the major people in the field of Japanese sword.
Wow! Having been in high school in Germany when the wall fell down I I think this is so special what you are doing. I still have my little piece of the wall. Those were interesting times.
Aya, I am SOOOOOO happy for you!! Ok, this is months later, but I want to let you know that I came across your site today and am AMAZED by you as always. Berlin Wall, archery, you always find a way to rise to the top of whatever you set out to do.
Hi Aya,
Still think of you and pray for you. Glad you're in Europe. Hope all is well and that you are forging ahead with your gift for archery. Hannah says hi.
Yours,
Lawrence
Hey there Aya,
I called your cellphone last week not knowing you
were still in Berlin...I hope everything went
great with the display of the walls you have done
and everyone enjoyed and liked your work.
Also I too left you a voice mail with congrates
about making the US Team for next year..we will
be watching you and the team more closely now..
lol
Hope you do good in Isreal and can get some good
pix of the walls and temples while there.
Drop us aline or two when you get the chance,
your friends Tracy & Petra Rhodes
Tournaments come and go but bridges and walls last for centuries or millennia. A dry stone wall may fall but never crumbles and is as wonderful a thing to view when fallen as it is when standing. And with care it can be rebuilt to be even better than it was before as the weakness that caused the fall can be strengthened.
SO SORRY ABOUT THE MUD AND RAIN AND YOUR RESULTS AT THE FITA WORLD FIELD EVENTS.. IT SEEMS YOUR BAD LUCK IS FOLLOWING YOU EVERYWHERE--WEATHER WISE-HEALTH WISE AND OTHER WISE... WOULD YOU PLEASE AS ALL YOUR WONDERFUL ARCHERY FRIENDS TO SEND A POSTCARD OF THEIR STATE OR COUNTRY TO MY FRIENDS GRAND DAUGHTER--KAELINN-- AT WILLOWDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL--MRS. PETTA'S CLASS--16901 P STREET---OMAHA, NEBRASKA--68135--THANK YOU
Aya-chan,
I'm glad you did well at the Gold Cup-with someone else's equipment! I hope you continue to enjoy shooting pain-free. Wishing you the best during this year's tournament season. See you in Boston.
Elke sent me your Url in an email. My name is Doug. I lived in Berlin from June 1988 until July 1991. I've spent a lot of time in Steinstucken. If you have any questions pertaining to the village during the Cold War, I'd be happy to try to answer them. My close friend, Tom Clark, who flew General Clay into Steinstucken in Sept of 1961, passed away last year. The history begins to fade.
