When opportunity knocks, it often bangs down the door. Since I started the filming of the documentary, it has been non-stop... let's say adventure. Filming began in the US during Indoor Nationals and followed in New York City and San Francisco... then a hop across the Atlantic to Paris, North Sweden, and finally Berlin. It's hard to believe this will only be a 1 hour documentary!
Filming is now in the editing stage and I am spending the remainder of my time in Berlin to finish a book I began writing 8 years ago. Not having my bow with me has been difficult but my back appreciates the further rest... Rest? Not really. I walk or run 10 - 12km almost daily and workout my upper body in hopes I won't be too soft by the time I compete in the Gold Cup next month, followed by the World Field Trials in early June.
While in Berlin I will continue my research of the Berlin Wall. It's even more important now because I have been awarded a contract to build 6 scale 1:10 models of different generations of the Border Wall for the Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin. What started from an old hobby brought back to life during rehabilitation for my back injury has turned into a fantastic opportunity to have my modelcraft displayed at a truly historic location and well known museum.
The opening will be in early October at the Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie.
